This video describes some unique practical applications of the shape memory alloy materials. Of particular interest, is the making of the jellyfish with shape memory alloys by Virginia Tech and funded by the Navy. The goal of the work is a motion detecting buoy that is inconspicuous. The buoy is an interesting art/functionally application.
